Game Time-Tic Tac Toe-Small Metal Tins

Anyone for an old fashion game of tic tac toe?

This is what I have been working on this week getting ready for the upcoming craft day in November.  I seen these online a while ago and have been wanting to do them. Here are some pictures.

This is the dino one from the top picture bottom center in both pictures only this shot it is opened to see the player pieces and the play board.  The pieces have magnets on the back of them so they stick to the tin.

More open tins.
The far left opened one can be found closed on the first picture top row last one on right.  The middle pink one can be found on the first picture top row in the center for the front of the tin.  And the blue tin is on the first picture on the top row on the left first one.

The metal tins are on sale for 99cents right now so if you are thinking of doing these it is a good time to order.  They were fun and fast to make.  Used various supplies so will not list but if you need help just e-mail me and I will be glad to help If I can with directions.

P.S. In case any of you notice I have more than enough player pieces per person.  I did this on purpose! Partly so in case they lose one.  But I think mainly because it looked neater in the tin, that's me !!!!!!

Trick or Treat 102109

Left side of picture is of the outside of card and the right side of picture is of the inside of card.

I got the idea for the pumpkin on this card from Ronda Wade and just went with the flow for the rest.  This is the first year that I have bought any StampinUp Halloween Stamps so am having lots of fun with them.  They really do look much better in person.  It is so hard to get the proper angle with the camera sometimes.

Halloween-Sweet Treats Cups 102009

Top Card outside bottom picture inside of card.

This is my attemp at using the new sweet treats cups on a card.  They were not that hard to use just a little hard to place so that your punch would reach.  The string of boarder leaves are a little hard to see here but they were done using the spectrum stampinup ink pad "Pumpkin Patch" in the varigated orange colors. This was a very fast and easy card to make once you knew what you were doing.

SUPPLIES:
STAMPS: Sweet Centers, All Holidays, Itty Bitty Boarders, Twick or Tweet
PAPER: Dusty Durangs, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White
INK: Basic Black, Spectrum Pumpkin Patch
ACCESSORIES: Snail Adhesive, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, 3/16" Corner Rounder, Sweet Treets Cups, Indian Corn Candy

Frankenstein Card-Halloween 101909

The left picture is of the outside of the card the the right side is of the inside of the card.
Isn't he cute?  I just love him, "Mr. McDreamy"  I got the idea for the Frankenstein from Tammy Ackerson, except I created the bolts on the neck.  Can you guess how I punched them? It took me an overnight thought process but after a night of thinking came up with a solution.  Yep, I used, believe it or not, the My Way Punch. I cut the strip not as wide/long as the whole punch then slid it into the large arrow.  Or I guess you could punch out the large arrow then just cut off the tip, either way would work. But doesn't it make just the perfect bolt???  One other tip do not stick them on until you are ready to place them on the front of your card so that you can place them correctly so they do not go over the edge of your card.  The purple hair I used the new shimmer Frost White plaint with alcohol to give it that shine.

Caly's Bridal Shower Card 101709

Now that I am done with the gift it was off to create the card.  Here is my card to go with the cookbook scrapbook that I made for my neice Caly to give to her tomorrow. The picture on the left is of the outside of the card and the picture on the right is of the inside of the card.
Yea I know it is kind of springy looking and it is getting awful cold here in Michigan right now but a girl can always dream.  Besides I just finally broke down and got the butterfly die cut to use on the bigshot and was just itching to use it.
I tried the marbeling tecnique on the flowers on the background by using a babywipe and two different colors of ink.  Then stamping your stamp on the wipe then onto your card to give it that two toned look.  I used the Brocade Blue and Lavender Lace for this.
The two tags on the front of the card are put on with dimentionals. The front of the card has just the bottom edge trimmed with the eyelet punch.  I did not do the second page. Then I sponged Brocade Blue ink on edge to highlight so it would stand out against the white background.  On my second card that I made I sponged the tag (for your shower) with Rose Red to make it stand out more.  Already had this one put together before I thought of it.

Caly's & John's Cookbook Scrapbook 26-27

These are pictures of Caly and her sister-in-law Heather. Then on next page Caly's oldest brother Cory, Heather's husband. I like the lilies on these two pages and applied the second copy with dimentionals.  The tag above the pictures is done using the modern label and word window punch.  I used "Fifth Avenue Floral" stamp on the background paper with Lavender Lace ink.

The end is within sight.  Only a few more pages to go, now after all this work it is going to be very hard to give this away, I need a copy for myself.  Well this starts the drinks section of the cookbook and time to have some fun.  I love the olive stamp on the tag.  It is from the "Olive You" Stampin Up set and on the bottom of the stamp it states "Olive You" but I omited that part. The arrow, glasses and cheers on the title bar are Stampin Up rub-ons and the doodles across the top on page 23 are also rub-ons.  The second picture of Caly on page 23 is put on with dimentionals.  I like lots of color so enjoyed doing the triple layers of matting.

Caly's & John's Cookbook Scrapbook 20-21

Back to the romance, I have to thank Caly's sister-in-law Jen for all the fab photo's of her and John.  They are from the shots that she took for their emgagement photos.  Jen is such a great artist and also a scrapbooker.  This is the end of the dip section so I left the last page blank so Caly can add a recipe here.  I stamped the arrow using "True Love" stamp set and Lavender Lace ink on the background.  The dip tag is cut using the magnetic movers & shapers Holiday Windows die cut with the bigshot then applied with dimentionals.

SUPPLIES:
STAMPS: Congrats, True Love

Caly's & John's Cookbook Scrapbook 18-19

New section, I hope Caly does not take this pessonally, and think I am calling them a "DIP". I thought about that after I did the heading for the section but was too lazy to change it and find new recipies.  Besides it was "Crab and Shrimp" dip and "Grilled Shrimp with Spricy Tomato Horseradish Dip". I am going to have to try these two out myself.  Check out if you can read it what I stamped under their pictures.  It is from the stampin up set "Classifieds" on page 133 in the big caddie.  I have had this stamp for a while and just waiting for that special time to use it and it works great here.  The lilies on the header tag, on top page, are done with versa mark and clear embossing powder, then the tag is put on with dimentionals.  The dips tag on the left side is done using the magnetic movers and shapers holiday windows die cut with the bigshot and the center put on with dimentionals.

I though of cast iron pans and grease and thought these pictures might fit. Pam's always cooking outdoors on the campfire and I hear that Caly likes to grill also so I had to do a campfire page.  The two recipies her are "Chicken and Seafood Trio in a Basket" and "Glenn's Diner-Crab Cakes" does'nt it sound great?  The basket on it even has an eatible basket out of potatoes.  I stamped the little fishes and the fern leaves on the background paper.

Busy Last Night- Caly's Cookbook-Pages 14-15

I was a busy girl last night I did eight pages and two sections.  There is hope that I might get a project done early for a change and maybe get it done a whole week early.  WHOO HOO FOR ME!!!! This was a fun section one of my favorate foods, sea foods.  Caly told me that she liked shrimp so I tryed to find different recipies with shrimp in them.  Shrimp is also one of my one time bestest foods, however you make it.  I thought the two cute playful stamps "Polar Pals" and "Animal Stories" looked cute with this.  I used  glitter on the whale.  The tag label for the sea food section is done using the punches layered then applied with dimentionals.

SUPPLIES:
STAMPS:  Labelicious, Polar Pals, Animal Stories

The top photo picture is when Caly's three Aunts (myself, Aunt Lois, Aunt Sandi) and her mom went to Canada for a few days vacation. We stopped at a nice place for lunch to eat and this was what we had.  The bottom photo picture is of Pam, Caly's mom fishing in her pond at home taking in a good catch for the day.

Caly's & John's Cookbook Scrapbook 12-13

I just love, love, love this page so of course the HEARTS, when I was talking to Pam about doing this cookbook I said it would be just perfect if I could find a picture of Caly when she was small playing in the dirt making mud pies.  Well thank you mother for the perfect photo shots from her photo album that I copied these from.  I wonder if she is still this messy when she cooks now?  The dessert and heart punched tags are put on with dimentionals.

I love the lines and curves in the lily print in this picture, great photo shot.  Since this is the end of my desset pages I left this last page blank so Caly could add her own recipe here.

Caly's & John's Cookbook Scrapbook 10-11

I like these two pages because it has Caly's dad in it.  But most important is that he is helping with kitchen duties, you do not see that too often.  Also it is a reminder of her home before they redid their kitchen.  They took out the back wall and added a whole new part to the house and a huge kitchen, Pam's dream kitchen.  In the top picture Pam is in the forgound and our mother in the backgournd (Caly's mom and grandmother).  On page ten I like how the backgound paper matches Danny's shirt in the picture.  The dessert circle and good times tags are both put on with dimentionals and cut out with punches.  The good times is double cut, first with modern label punch then with movers & shapers punch windows bigshot die.  I just love all the movers and shapers which match the punches and give you that great layered design.

More Cookbook Pages- Caly's & John's Cookbook Scrapbook-Pages 8-9

This starts my dessert section and what better way than a sweet picture of the cute couple Caly & John.  When Caly introduced me to John a few summers ago after he left she said "isn't he handsome?" so I tease her about this all the time when I see her.  But he is a HUNK don't you think?

Caly's & John's Cookbook Scrapbook Page Six & Seven

Page Six, Here she is finally grown up, but no that is not her baby, it is her neice Annabell.  This recipe is called Red, White, and Blue Mashed Potatoes with bacon and gorgonzola cheese.

This page is the end of my section on Meat, Potatoes, & Gravy so I left this one blank so Caly can add one of her favorate recipies here.

Caly's & John's Cookbook Scrapbook Page Four & Five

Page Four, Isn't she a sweetie?  I am so glad she was dressed in her blue pj's (that her mom Pam made for her) that match my blue page just right.  But I do not think she was having a very good hair day that day, so will have to talk to Caly about that one since she is into being a stylist right now.  But the other two pictures she has her hair all pulled back all prim and proper.  You cannot see it very good but the tag at the top is stamped "meat and main dishes" from the "From the Kitchen" stamp set. The recipe is Pot Roast and Vegetable Gravy.

Caly's & John's Cookbook Scrapbook Page Two & Three

Page Two, Yes Sandi this is one of my fav's because it is purple.  I just love the purple lilies that I got online. I was surprised how many different kinds of lilies that there are when I was printing for this.  And it was so nice of stampin up to have just the right lily stamps to help me with this project.  I used "Dream a Little" stamp with versa mark and embossing powder on the lily stamp put on with dimentionals.  The tag is also put on with dimentionals and layered with Lavender Lace and Rose Red.

The top picture is of Caly and her three brothers.

Caly's & John's Cookbook Scrapbook Page One

Okay here we go, this is what I have been doing for the last two days.  This is the start of the cookbook scrapbook for my neice Caly's surprise shower gift.  This is page one.  I got the recipies from foodnetwork.com and I just love how you can print out the 3 X 5 size cards.  I have used this to make different class projects.  The only drawback is that sometimes at the bottom where they have their address logo when it prints the recipe it prints over and you cannot read the directions on that line. As you can barely see on the top card bottom line here it is a type over print.  But other than that it is a great place to go to get recipies.

One of Caly's choices of  favorate foods was mashed potatoes and gravy so that is the heading of this section.   On the left is my sister Pam, her mom, giving her a bath. You never have a scrapbook without at least one naked bath picture for the host, RIGHT!  On the bottom right is my mother and Caly's grandmother.  Pam did give me warning that I was not to have any pictures of her in this but I told her I would try my best but she was the mom and I at least had to have some.

Caly's & John's Cookbook front Cover

Well something should tell me I should not continue with this project because it has been one do over after another.  But I guess it is what they say there is no mistakes only new possabilities.

This is going to be a bridal gift for my neice Caly, my sister Pam's only girl on the 18th of this month. Yes, I am just starting so hope it goes better then today.  It is going to be a scrapbook cookbook with pictures of Caly (a few of John) growing up and different recipies for them to try.  I am going to leave some blank pages so she can add to it.  She is a scrapbooker herself and I am sure will have fun adding some of her favorate things. Pink, purple and blue are Caly's favorate colors so are mine so I am going to love making this one. Also tiger lilies are her favorate flowers so I am using that as a theme in the cookbook.

Lots of tips though.  DO NOT use crystal effects on a cloth padded album to glue on rhinestones, it leaves a wet mark that does not dry.  Error number one. Error number two was when I did one of the embossed lilies I left too much of the embossing powder on and it came out kind of blurry and messy so was glad for that redue.  But I did use the crystal effects to glue on the double hearts on the picture and  it worked fine there. So I ended up covering my front.  By doing that I got to add the Lavender Lace CS and the Whisper White 5/8" Organzia ribbon that I had not planned the first time around.  Plus I added the punched heart and scalloped blue print  the second time around.  The bird and the saying are put on with dimentionals.

Stampin Up Supplies:  Stamp: Fifth Avenue Floral, Versa Mark, Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, 2-Way Glue, Whisper White 5/8" Organzia Ribbon, Scalloped Edge Punch, Dimentionals, Crystal Effects, Snail, Movers & Shapers Holidays Windows, Paper: Brocade Blue, Lavender Lace, Regal Rose

Double Tea Bag Holder

Here is my next new exciting project for my coming up craft show day.  They are double tea bag holders and I got the idea from splitcoaststampers tutorial.  Lois you will really like these since you love to drink hot tea.  I took these down to bingo today and they were a hit. I am selling mine for $2.50 each and I put Yogi Herbal tea inside.  It is a little more expensive 64 cents for the two tea bags but I wanted something special.  The finished size is about 3 1/2 X 3 1/2.
