Well had my second card class and it was a success. It was a cold snowy day but my girls still showed all but one. They all did a great job and worked as a team and we were all much faster this time. We are both learning this so I am sure each time we will get faster. I am so lucky each time to have the whole community room and we had lots of space to spread out, quiet, and no interruption.

I did three cards (two of each) and one 3D object (box) for a $15 class.

Here is my first card:

012212-Thinking Of You

This card I could not make up my mind either to use the red or white glitter paper on the background or red or white doily. So I gave them both choices. Which do you like the best? I cannot decide. For the heart in the center I first sponged Marina Mist on a Wisper White square. Leaving lots of white space. Then I stamped the bird stamp followed by coloring in the flowers with Pale Plum marker. I cut the heart out then snailed it to Marina Mist card stock and cut a small boarder. I applied it on top of the doily with dimensions. Then stamped and cut the banner out and applied that also with dimensionals.

012112 Birthday Card

Even though our theme of the day was Valentines I wanted to give the girls other options for the day. So I gave them this birthday card to work with. The idea originally came when I was visiting my sister Sandi Dailey at her home and she helped me come up with the idea. I changed the colors and the stamp set when I got home but Sandi gave me the layout. I used the new jewel pack from SU and had a hard time getting the jewels to stay stuck. So after class when I made some cards for myself I used crystal effects to keep the jewels in place. I would recommend this, it only takes just a small drop. That way you know for sure it will not come off.

This card we had many options for. I choice Sweet Friend but some of the other choices were, Happy Valentines Day, Happy Birthday, Thank You, Friend to Friend, Thinking of You, Happy Anniversary, Hello Baby, Love You. Most of these came from the stamp set Tiny Tiny Wishes because I wanted them to fit inside the Word Window punch. The original idea started with my upline Rhonda Wade. Then I went to my sister Sandi Dailey's house for a day of stampin and we did this together. I did not have the cherib stamp so I stamped some for my class. Then used different stamps for the rest of my card but the basic layout I have to give credit to the other two girls, thanks girls.

022812 Cookie Box-Valentine Box

This is the 3D project we did for the day. I had ordered the Kraft gift boxes from the mini but I only had four not enough for class and not enough time to order more. So I cut the box apart and used it as a template and made my own boxes for class. Of course it would be much easier to order them but I used the cardboard from the back of the designer series paper packs, traced around the template, added score lines, cut and had my boxes. If you lay it out just right you can get one box on the 12 X 12 cardboard. I also added DSP to the bottom and inside bottom of the box. This box is just the right size for a cupcake or maybe three or four cookies.

Winter is finally here...got some SNOW

Well thought for a while there Winter had passed us by this is our second dump this winter but only about four inches. This has been a very weird winter I would say. But still wish it was spring. And to top it off got my first wonderful cold from my wonderful kind sister Pam who spend a few days with me. Which ended up giving her fresh cold to both me and to my other sister Sandi, such sisterly love can't be beat wouldn't you say? I am on day four and finally feeling a little human again. Have not been doing much stamping lately but did go to a family get together and spent the day before at my sister Sandi Dailey's house doing stampin. We did some awesome valentine cards. I cannot show them to you at this time because I might use them in my upcoming class at the end of the month but will post them then. I did put ten sets of stamps together yesterday and am excited to get started.

Here are some pictures of some wooden cars that I bought and painted and had up for sale at my last craft sale. They are only about 1 1/2 X 3 maybe in size.

Since I do not have any new stampin stuff to show off I guess I will show you my next most favorite thing. Yep, if you guess Henry my kitty you were right here are some of his latest photos.

Henry thinks he is ready to start stamping now! He is in my stampin chair behind my table. But he does not fool me. He is just sneaking up there to see where I hid his kitty treats on the table. Sometimes in the morning I find them on the floor. He has not found out how to open zip lock seals yet.

Where Did The Time Go

Sorry, guess I let the time get away from me in updating my blog. My sister kept telling me to post but I had other things to do and I did not know it had been so long since my last entry. So I guess I have a lot of catching up to do. Well my sister has been waiting to see my Christmas cards I did at my card class so I guess I will post them first.

A new friend saw this stamp set in the big book, ordered it and wanted me to do a card class using the layout in the big book on page 102. I cased it but changed it just a little at the bottom since Ann did not want the ribbon or the hardware.

Ann had a special preference for trees and snowmen so I dug out this old stamp set, still one of my favorate sets. I used the masking tape method and dazzling diamonds with the window punch on the front of the card. Top of the picture is of the front of the card and bottom picture is of the inside of the card. I also used masking to create the snow mounds. I had four ladies in class and none of them had ever stamped before so all of this was new to them. I tried to keep it as simple as possible but class still took three hours and the last person to leave took five hours. Maybe next time they will be more comfortable and used to stamping.

Now this card I thought would be the easiest card of the three to complete since I had all the piece's punched out and in a bag for each of the girls. But it took the longest of each of the cards because of all the small pieces. Each person got to make four cards of the three different styles for a total of twelve cards for $10.00. I gave them a discount because it was their first time coming. But some of them did extra cards and I charged them $2.00 per extra card they made. I ended up with $58 for the day and we decided to have regularly classes every other month from now on. Super for my first try I thought. I only had two cancel from this class so I guess the odds were in my favor this time.

Now just after this class I had a craft show here and this is one of the things I made for it.

This is my pride and joy. Is it not a cutie? I just love, love, love, it. I just have to tell you the story behind it. I seen it in the book and knew I just had to make it sometime so I sat it aside in my never ending pile of things to make. I did not have the right spindle for it but had a small vase that could do in a pinch but not sure I wanted to use it. Then one day I was taking my trash to the dumpster and some one was throwing away a perfectly good solid oak chair. So who cares if part of one leg was broken...does that make it trash...NO. Man I scarfed that baby up in a wink and knew just what it was meant for in its new life. Those spindles were just perfect for what I needed them for. Then a few days later someone else in the building was throwing another chair just like it away but this time the legs were just loose. So now I had plenty of supplies. I ended up making three of these and sold one before I even had it finished. I told her $12 but she said it was worth $15 so that is what she gave me. You cannot see the new Mica Flakes I added all over but they give it that winter look. The head is a Styrofoam ball with Newsprint DSP mod podged on. My spindle did not have a wide enough base for the snowman to stand on so I went to the store and the only things I could find was a small glass votive cup for the base. I glued the wooden spindle and the glass votive together then base coated them in gesso white, then lightly sponged cherry cobbler. The very bottom I added two sizes of scalloped circles at the based. At the top of the spindle is also another medium scallop circle pushed through the spindle then glued crinkled felted small punched scallopes in cherry cobbler and white punched scallopes cut into old fashioned snowflakes (only because I did not have the snowflake punch) around the base giving it lots of height. Saving some to add to the brim of the hat. It is hard to see but the spindle does have notches and groves in it for dimention.

Now Down To Business

So do you think it is about time for some stampin up business? I think so. I think I am so far caught up on this summers business and can post some more current stuff. I am getting busy for a craft sale in December so have been making a few small things to add to my many old things laying around. The following project is a case from the big book on page 21 bottom left hand corner. When I looked at it I thought it was made out of Popsicle sticks. I looked and looked and thought I was right but my sister thinks it was done with paper, what else would stampin up use? But I already had these done and liked them so continued making them this way. So you choose which way you want to do them. Here is my samples.....

These three are done with the small Popsicle sticks (30) total, the larger ones use (50) sticks. The purple one on the left has a lolly flower on it. It is my first attempt to make a lolly but I did not have my score pal yet so I just folded it. Not to bad for a first try I think. There are two cross panels at the base of each to give them more strength. I ended up putting potpourri in the inside of each. I sold three already not shown here, a red/black, light green, and blue/dark pink. I sold them for $4.50 filled but at the show I think I will sell them for $5 filled.

This is a very quick and easy project to make and just the right last minute give away gift. They hold two emery boards. I used the crimper on the bottom so they would not fall out. Enlarge to see all the details that I put into them. I have sold a few for seventy five cents but at the craft sale I think I will sell them for a dollar because of all the bling that I added. Two new boys in my life

I have been lucky these past two months and now have two very special new boys in my life. First I will tell you about my beautiful new grandson born on September 19, 2011. His name is Evan Lee and he weighted in at eight pounds two ounces and twenty one inches long. This was my daughter Stacey's second and second boy. She was in labor for twenty four hours so it was quite tiring for her. But for all that hard hard work she had a most beautiful baby. Here are some pictures that his Aunt Sarah took of him. I think she did a wonderful job.

Well that is my first little guy to sing praises for now here is my second little guy that I can love up whenever I want. His name is Henry and I just added him to my family. Here is his picture....

I have had him for three weeks now and he is ten weeks old. Is he not a just a cutie? Look at those two little wishbones above his eyes for good luck. He has a little freckle under his left paw but did not get a picture of it, well have to some time to show you. He loves to chase his tail and roll on his back and box with you.

Second Favorite Place to Sleep

Henry's second favorite place to sleep other than with me is the bottom of the fake tree that I have in the living room. He just fits it now but I do not know what he will do in a couple of months. I sure hope he does not try to climb it because as you can see the base is only a few inches around. It would hold him now but not for long. Of course he had to find my stash of sacks of sewing supplies I was hiding in the corner but so far he has left them alone..... I hope it stays that way because I do not have very much room to hide things in this tiny apartment. He is having so much fun with all my craft supplies. I think he might be my next recruit...does that count Sandi and Ronda? He really likes Stampin UP ribbon and paper and the UPS boxes............................................

Nice to be back in the grove of things

It is so nice to finally have my computer back to working order. You do not know how much you are attached to it until it breaks down. Then after you get it fixed you wonder why did you wait so long to get something so easy done. But I am just thankful it is done. Well like I said I have lots of old pictures to get caught up with so here are some pictures of some summer projects.

This is my granddaughter Mariah who turned fifteen this past June. Took the picture a little too soon just before she smiled. She is holding a prayer journal book that I made for her. I first made one of these at one of Ronda Wades classes and I have made many since and given them away.

This card is a little different than the norm. The front is created using a letter plate given to me and ran it through the bigshot. It was a little thick for the bigshot but I got the effect I wanted. How can you resist that face.

This summer was a time to get into my stash of inventory and clean out. This was another set of cards and envelopes that I had set aside to make and never got to them. Since the front of the card was precut I decided to place another flower inside the card to cover up the backside of the front of the card.

Now I will close with my best card for my sister Pam's 59th birthday. I just had to get this sewing stamp set just to do this card for Pam and she loved her card. So if you are a reader of my blog you know that Pam is a avid sewer and loves Orange which made this card very easy to make.

The pattern pieces I stamper on tissue paper to give it the real pattern piece look. And the tape measure I heat embossed silver ink at the tip to make it look like a real tape measure. I had lots of fun making this special for Pam. Well that is some of my summer projects let me know what you think of them.

Well I hope I am past the computer problem. I had a friend come down and work on my computer and hope we have taken care of my problems and maybe I can do some blogging now. So here are some new but old pictures that I have been saving to post.

My first picture is of a table top that I did for my daughter Stephanie.

I was suppose to make this for Stephanie six years ago and got the material but never got the time to make it. Well I just had to set myself down and do it finally. The top is all done in piece work on the sewing machine in individual rows. After layering the pieces together I hand quilted through the layers. The fishes were added with fusible webbing and then blanket stitched with black embroidery floss.

Clara Smith's Pillow Case set

This is the pillow case set that I made for my friend Clara Smith's 90th birthday party this year. Now the Lord created the earth in seven days but it took me eight hard extra long days, two broken needle threaders, untieing many knots and now I think I must be going blind. But I made it time for her birthday. Why do I always wait till the last minute to think of a project to do? Do any of you have that problem?

This is the last of my group of thank you cards. I wanted to get a variety for people to choose from, what do you think? I like using my big shot and creating all the dimension on my cards. How did we ever get along without our big shots? The pheasants and butterflies on the card and envelope are embossed and heat set.

These two pictures are of the new one inch envelope punch. I had some small erasors so I made one for each of my grand kids as a surprise. The one in the back on the left is for Mariah. Her's had a watermelon slice erasor in it. In the center was one for her brother Alex and his had a socker ball in it. Then the one on the right was for Isaac and his had a basketball inside. This picture is of the front side of them. The next picture is of the back side of each one.

Since I have the screen up and everything is working today I am going to post another picture while I am waiting for my ride to my doctors appointment. So here is some more pictures that I have been working on.

This is a gift bag and card set that I made. The square behind the motor bike is made from a coke can and I ran it through the big shot using a textured plate to get the embossed impression. Then I inked it with black stayson ink to give it that aged look. I think the silver connected the over all look of the chrome to the stamp on the bike and I used the zizzy gold pen to highlight some of the chrome on the bike. I used the silver stretchy cord to tie a bow on the handy to also add to the silver look. I just really love this set for a manly gift. I lost my sheet with the supply directions so I cannot list my supplies for you but pretty basic hope you can figure it out. Let me know what you think.

This is another manly or could be a generic card. I guess I was in a manly mood. Some of my customers were requesting more manly cards so I guess I better get busy and give them what they want. I really am glad they came out with this stamp set because it is so manly and earthly and of course I could give it that good old 3-D touch. What do you think?

This is a graduation card very quick and simple using last years stamp set. I am not to keen on owls but like all the stamps in this set. used the watercolor pencils to color everything in. Since gold and blue were my graduating colors I chose these for my card ever though that was so so so long long ago.......

Grandson Alex's birthday Card

This card I made for my grandson Alex on his last birthday. He is into all kinds of sports and I thought this would be kind of cute for him, he was ten on his birthday. I liked using all the different textured plated with the colored cardstock on the background and of course I had to use some 3-D on my card by adding the buttons. Very simple and fast to make.

Bottom right corner is showing what I stamped on the back of the gift bag. I added the birdcage and little birdie from the stamp set "Nature Walk". I also added some 1/4" Black and 1/4" Bravo Burgundy grosgrain ribbon to handle. This is what I have been busy with the last few days now I have my housework done and time to open my extra large box from Stampin Up. Been a while since my last order so cannot wait to try out some new stuff. I told myself that I could not play until my work was done...but of course no one but God and me knows what was on that list.....Okay Lord I will put the stuff back in the kitchen that I took out when I washed my floors before I start!

Try Stampin On Tuesday Challenge #4

It is that time of week again to post my challenge card for the http://trystampinontuesday.blogspot.com/, challenge #4. I worked hard on this on trying out some new things. I have been wanting to make some of the new flower cards that have been showing up on stampin up sites but just did not know how to get started. Not only am I blessed with the most wonderful products from stampinup but can say the best part of my day is first thing each morning when I talk to my sister Sandi, whom just happens to be my up-line. Now how much better can a day start than talking to your sister for a hour or so....but most of that hour we are talking stamping!!!!!!! "My best part of the day" She coaches, pushes, and sometimes bribes me to get my cards done. But today we talked about how to start the crunching up of the flowers with spraying water on the petals and smooching them up like a spit ball. Then carefully unfolding them leaving lots of wrinkles and letting them dry. Well I was not too sure I could do it and had a hard time finding the perfect punches for my design but what do you think?

Baby Bag to match card # 032311

Well I just got my baby bag done that matches the card that I did on my last entry. How do you like it? I just love making baby things. In case I forgot to mention it I am going to be a grandmother again this coming September from my darling daughter Stacey. I cannot wait to have a baby around again, its brother is eight years old. My other two grandchildren from my darling daughter Stephanie are 12 and 14 so it has been a while for me. Cannot wait till she finds out the sex so I can go shopping.

I like to add lots of ribbon to my bags. I added it by punching holes with a hand held two slot ribbon punch, then threading the ribbon through and tied it. The medium blue scallop on the front has textured dots on it but my pictures did not come out so good this time. My battery was low on my camera I guess I should of changed it because the colors did not come out very true to color either.

"Try Stampin On Tuesday" week #3 entry. I just got a visit from the big brown truck and could not wait to use my new stamp Bear Hugs. So this weeks entry I decided to make a baby card since I was running low on them anyways. I like this card so much I think I am going to make a matching bag to go with with so my customers can have a package set in case they have a baby shower to go to. TUESDAY CARD CHALLENGE #2

Well here it is the second week of the Tuesday Card Challenge #2. This is what we are suppose to work with.

This card took me a little longer because the method that I wanted to try did not work for this card so will have to use it some other time. Here is my card how do you like it?

Get Well Challenge Card #2 032111

The left picture is of the outside of the card and the right picture is of the inside of the card.

1. Stamp with River Rock ink the daisy stamp on the plain card.

2. I cut out my two sizes of scalloped circles, sponged inked the edges, then snailed them to the top left corner avoiding the stamped image.

3. Re ink the daisy stamp this time in Basic Brown and stamped to the side of background image. Make sure to press really hard in the area where the scallop circles are to transfer the ink proper.
4. Using a sponge with Dark Brown ink I sponged the outside of my card.

5. I used Sizzix die cut to make the scallop edging then punched large holes so Dark Brown Felt Ribbon would show. Before glueing I inked edges with Dark Brown ink using a sponge.

6. Apply snail to back of scallop edge of River Rock piece and glue felt ribbon to cover holes letting stitching show, thread So Saffron ribbon in second hole, attach to die cut tag and tie in bow. I added some glue dots to back of tag to keep in place.

7. Inside of card I stamped the small daisy in River Rock, then stamped sentiment over top in Basic Brown. Under this I added the left over piece that I cut from the scallop circles from front.

Monthly Tuesday Challenge February - Feb 13,2011

This is a new challenge that was on my sister Sandi's blog. It sounded like fun so I though I would give it a try. The challenge was to use all stampin up products, they had a suggested layout, use a group of three, and a sentiment on the front of the card. This is what I came up with. Let me know what you think.

This is the outside of my card. I used Sending Love DSP and it has lots of sparkle and glitter. When I seen the suggestions for this card I knew that I wanted to use the heart stamp and that I wanted to hang the tiny tags on the side to look like tiny charms. I also knew that I wanted to use the Square Lattice Textured Impression folder. I just love what it does to designer paper and how it looks after it goes through the big shot. In case you cannot tell the top triangle of the card plus the pretty in pink scallop circles behind the large hearts have been put through the big shot using this impressions folder. The buttons on the top left corner are the clear heart buttons and I used the small heart on the Heart to Heart punch, which matches perfectly, on the back of each button. I tied each button with black hemp.

The top picture is of the outside of my card and the bottom is what I put on the inside. I like this saying and thought it could be used for many different kinds of cards. The small heart is from the Heart to Heart punch and it is the same one that I used on the back of the buttons. I cut away the bottom right hand corner to match the front to make it easier to open the card also I think it gives it a little more character.

I am excited about this card and had lots of fun making it. Hope you enjoy it just as much. Let me know what you think.

Okay this is my challenge card that my sister Sandi challenged me to make. My challenge was to do a Ronda Wade card, simple, quick to demonstrate and easy, all very hard for me. I was to use all current Stampin Up products, one bling, and one emblosslit folder and had to be posted on my blog by Sunday. I think it was Friday when I was challenged. Well it did not start off too good because I gave my big book to a customer to look at over the weekend. I thought no problem I had an idea already. WRONG!! All the stamps were not current...bumber. Then after many calls to Sandi I had a choice of five stamp sets that I had not used yet. Next I had not written down the new colors yet so had to search out what were the current colors. Man I do not like this being plugged down to a limited idea plan.......Well after a whole bunch of behind the scenes legwork this is what I came up with... not my normal kind of card. I could not make up my mind on the colors which do you like better?

She probably did not even get out from under the covers this morning. I am crazy because I did. Well since I have been so long in posting these last few months I guess what better to post on this cold winter day than the Christmas cards that I made this year.

This is last years stamp set but I got it late after I had made my cards so could not wait to use it this year. I like how I tied the following the star with Christ and the star stamp. This is one of my favorite cards. It was so simple and fast to make and love the Bermuda Bay color. The only hard part was that on the star stamp were the words 'PEACE" written under the star. So I had to mask it every time that I stamped it but I love this star and the dots around the edges. I got the idea for using the tag on the front from one of my sister Sandi tags and loved how she displayed it, so that was the start of the idea for this card, thanks Sandi for the spark plug start.

This is my experiment fun but time consuming card. There are several things on this one that I tried new. The merry tag is made from the tin on a soda can which after cutting down the tin to size I ran it through the Big Shot Sizzet Embossing Folder "Merry". I applied black embossing powder next and heat set but I thought I could just scrape off with a light sanding the black over the embossed "Merry" but that did not work. So I had to end up making a cut mark along the top and bottom of the word and removing all of the embossing just in this area. Then reapplying very carefully in very small amounts of the embossing powder and scraping off the letters until I could read it then heat set it again. This took some time so I do not think I will try this again. There must be an easier way to do this. Behind the scalloped candle stamp I used a one inch strip of heavy duty tin foil and pleated it as I went around a sticky page circle applied to the back of the scallop. The Real Red 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon at the bottom is also stuck on using a sticky page strip cut to size applied to the bottom of the card first then adding the ribbon and pleating it. On the inside page I put the verse through the Sizzix Textured Impressions folder Perfect Polka Dots.

Santa Letter 112810 INSIDE

This was a fun project that our building manager wanted help with for her day care class that her daughter attends plus the five Kindergarden classes here in Saranac. She created two different letters. I did not get a copy of the other one but it had a place for the childs name and what they wanted from Santa. The teacher had each student make a wish list for Santa then we choose which one to include in the letter. I was in charge of all the designing of the stamping part. The reindeers nose has red glitter on it. We had a total of a hundred to do so the stamping part was fast and fun to do. But I had help from three other ladies who used SU markers to color in the stamps on the outside of the letter. It only took the seven of us two hours to finish.

Burp Pads

Sorry I have been away so long it is a long story but I am back hope I can entice your interest. Here are some pictures of some burp pads that I made as gifts. My nurse is having a baby boy and I decided to make her four of them. Then after I got them done I took them down to show some friends at bingo and got two seperate orders for four more. I guess it does pay to show your goodies off!

Here they are, whoops I forgot the green one, will have to show that one next. But the blue, orange and white are for my nurse plus the green one in the next picture. The red one is for an extra order plus she liked the green one so much she wanted one just like it. The other two the lady has not decided what she wants yet because the baby is not due till this spring.

Here is the green one. I had a fat quarter that had these bears printed on the fabric and since I was going with the bear concept I thought this would be nice. Everything on the burp pad is hand sewn except the black scallops fancy stiching on the inside boarder. That is done with a cam on my sewing machine. I ironed on each applique with fusable webbing then hand sewed around to create stitch marks. Then after putting all my layers (3) together (there is a quilting material in the middle) I hand quilted around everything. Some of the material is cotton fat quarters, others felt, flannel and the white is diaper flannel (hard to find in the store) so you can use white flannel instead. Diaper flannel is a little thicker and I like it better. The edging on each I used matching seam binding.

This is my fav one of all. The top picture is one side and the bottom picture is the other side of the burp pad as you can see from my first picture. The pictures are at the opposite ends so that when you place it over your sholder people standing behind you get to see the applique and the baby gets to lay her face on the smooth plain white side to burp on. Then it is reversed for the backside. The baby is going to be a girl and she is going to be born around valentines day so Clara wanted something red and with hearts. I just love using the build-a-bear dies they cut out so nice and look so cute. It was so quick and easy to do. I need to get more clothing for them though. Candle Gift Boxes

Sorry I have not been posting lately but been having computer from HELL problems. Not fixed yet but is usable for the time being, I hope! Thank goodness that blog sights do not get erased when your computer crashes. So this is what I have been doing lately.......

This is my granddaughter Mariah Elizabeth Smith, second on the left. On the right is my daughter Stephanie's boyfiend Brian and his daughter Chelsie. This was when Mariah was marching in the Sunfield parade last month in her home town. She is my oldest granddaughter who is 14.

This project is done using two of the round large scallop die cuts using the big shot. I made one for my sister Sandi's birthday gift in purple but lost the picture when my computer crashed, sorry Sandi I cannot show how pretty yours was with your extra surprise added to it. Maybe you can send me a picture and I can add it later...hint, hint. This was really fast and simple to make and a nice filler gift. That is a jumbo candy bar inside for us women with our jumbo chocolate attacks. With after all these computer problems I really need right now so after I took this picture mine went missing the second after!!!!!

This is my new project that I have been working on it is a small tea light candle gift box. I got the idea from my sister Sandi's blog who got the directions from "TheSouthernStamper.com" week one by Carla Brasher. Winter Post Christmas Candle Gift Set. she has the complete directions for making the box. It is very simple. Here is the pink box set that I made.

This one I used the big shot and punched out of a pop can the flower on the ribbon using the Sizzix Embosslits Simple Flower die. Then I applied embossing powder to it. I just love using metal. The knot in the center is the jute from the tag brought up around the ribbon then through the center of the flower and tied in a knot to secure the hole thing tight. When you want to open the box the ribbon just slides off the box.

This one was a fun one to make. I tried using embossin powder on the candle and it worked great. I also made another metal small flower on the ribbon then added a small filigree brad on top. Both of which I heat embossed by first stamping them in versa mark then adding the gold embossing powder and heat setting. You cannot tell here but the black DSP has gold strips on it.

My camera shot was not too good here, my over head light shined on the window sheet creating a glare so the candles do not show up. But I used the Basic Brown ink on the tissue paper. The flower in the center of the bow is from the Stitched Felt Sweet Pea flower set.

Another view but the camera did not pick up the brown on the cinnamon candles but you can see them regularly.
This box is not that large and would make a nice little gift with Christmas coming up, or a nice wedding gift or shower gift anytime. So hope you give this a try, have fun.

Richards Birthday Card

I made this birthday card for my brother Richard on his 68th birthday. Picture on the left is of the outside of card and picture on the right is of the inside of card. He got a nice laugh out of the King for a Day stamp and it went to his head of course but with him it does not take much. He was at my sister's Sandi's house when I gave it to him and she explained to him how we made our cards and he was really impressed with the process. He thought we just used kits all the time. My sister has a really nice studio in her home and does such a super job. And of course I have to give her kudio's because she is my upline whom I signed up under (does the free advertising get me a free gift in the mail Sandi?).

Sandi's Birthday Card

This is the outside of the birthday card I made for my sister Sandi. She really likes old antique looking things so I tried to do a rustic look for her. I used the Autumn Medows DSP here and I just love it and and colors in it. I put a pocket on the inside, as you will see in the next picture, but when I measured for the side score I though I would need more room for the depth on the tags so I used an one inch score. A half or even a regular fold would do just fine instead. The one inch was too big and would make it hard to mail so this needs to be adjusted if you copy my picture.

Stamping Table

Well I redid my livingroom and changed things around and this is what I came up with. How do you like it? I guess you can no longer call it a livingroom because it is 100% stamping USA. I only have a tiny apartment so something has to go and that was a couch. But who needs one when all I want to do is stamp anyways right? So here is my table where I stamp and can have classes and seat up to four people at a time.

Pam's Birthday Gift

Well I have been a little lazy lately about posting but guess I will try to catch up. Here is the gift that I made for my sister Pam for her birthday July 19th (the orange one on the left). I liked it so much that I made a purple one for me also. I tried something different with the flowers. The flowers are silk flowers but they have a liquid finish on them that is suppose to make them look like china flowers and turn them super hard. Of course the paper, stamps and ribbon are stampinup. Oh ya, this is when Pam and I were five and four years old, so you go figure out our ages, because Pam keeps telling her family she is 24. I think she needs to retake some math classes!!!!

Outside Pam's Birthday Card

This is the birthday card that I made to match for Pam's birthday. It is from the Sweet Pea DSP pack and I used Serene Sunflower, Organic Grace, A Touch of Nature, Friendship Blooms and It's Your Birthday stamp sets. I tried something different with the flowers. First I stamped them. Then I colored them using the aqua pen and ink. Next I put micro beads in the center, then covered the entire flower with crystal effects and let dry overnight. This gave a very nice 3-D visual to the card and I applied them with pop dots.

This is a view of the inside of Pam's card and the original picture of us together before I enlarged it. I am not parshal to orange but it is Pam's favorate color so I have to use it once in a while but I do like it in this grouping. I really like doing the flowers this way. It was time consuming but different and great for a visual effect on your card.

Well had to put this on after going to my sister Sandi's blog. http://anotherchancetostamp.blogspot.com/. And she though her studio was messy, let me tell you girlfriend here is a mess....

AM I RIGHT?

Now this is what I call a mess Sandi. Well it is not always like this. I only have a small 500 sq foot apartment so space is limited but I am usually more organized then this. I had a couple of girlfriends over the other night to play some cards and started to cleaned off my table and had nowhere else to put things so everything on the table went on the floor.

Now I will show you what it should look like, or should I say the best that I can do with the space that I am allowed.

Now things are kind of back to where they are suppose to be. As you can see I have some stamp sets in the back here that need to still be mounted. The stuff on the rocker on the right is my extra supplies and my baggies with my sponges in it. On the floor is my doctor bag full of all of my bigshot dies. On the hassock are the old in color card stock and the rest of my sizzlet dies.

Now I am ready to start on my card for my sister Pam's birthday card. Yes Sandi here is a sneek preview of Pam's photo in the background that I made for her July 19th birthday. The purple and pink flowers that you see in the forground are for my photo frame when I get time to make for me to keep. Now I just have to come up with an idea for a card to go with the photo frame. I have the flowers already stamped setting in front on the table. I used crystal effects on them and the aqua pen. I will be showing you the finished products when done later. So just wanted to show Sandi what a messy room really looks like. Do I Win Sandi?

I wish I could take credit for all of this card but I cased most of the front from the May 2010 Stampin Success. I used some different stamps and different tag to change it a bit but loved the overall idea, thanks StampinUP. But the inside was my idea, how do you like? I like using tags and dimensionals. The two tags and the balloons are cut with a sizzix die then applied to the card.

This card I made for a lady in my building who treated everyone in our building to a steak dinner/potluck this month. CAT BELATED BIRTHDAY CARD 062110

This card was for my special friend Clara who turned a happy "89". She has a cat called "Miss Kitty" who is a gray tiger kitty so just had to do a cat card for her. I really remembered her birthday but wanted to make a belated card since I do not have to many of them as samples. I was tired of the simple rectangle size so decided to use my Carousel Notes, love scallopes. Tried something new with how I attached the two cards together to open. I used the round tab punch, it worked great.

Finally my Joker birthday card, this one was so much fun. I just love this stamp set. I used the StampinUP Textured Cuts Wood Sheets on the back of the Jackpot DSP to make the cards. They look so real. This card was made for a friend of mine who I play cards with and though it would be just perfect for her.

Large Magnetic/Clip/Chalk Boards
The top one is my game board using left over pieces from a Scrabble game and the Game Night DSP from StampinUP and the matching stamp set on the hanging chipboard tags. You can barely see the little note clip on the top left corner on the magnet side of the board. That whole side of the canvas is a sheet of metal covered with the DS paper for your magnets. I included three wooden magnets with every board, here I used three stars with Scrabble tiles spelling "GUM". At the bottom on the right side is the tray from the Scrabble game but instead of using it to put your letter on it is to put your chalk on. The bottom board is the same idea only using ducks.

The top one is for the pet lover. You can see the clip on the top left corner a little clearer here it is holding a round tag. At the bottom right corner I used an inverted wooden thimble to hold the chalk for this one. I painted the canvas with chalk paint first before starting my project. This was before I found out that StampinUP had chalk vinyl for sale.

These are the three different sizes that I choose Large, Medium, and Small. The medium and small sizes are just chalk boards and are a good size for handing on a door knob.

Back left jewelry packs (necklace-pin-earrings), gable boxes, wooden pencil holders, sliding matchbox decorative boxes, cloth pins, in front gift bags with card.

Here is some of my sister Pam's stuff that she did. On the far left side which you can barely see are some gift bags, then some kitchen towels, purses and in the front on the right side are some bags within a bag for your purse. It is for when you are in the store and you buy something and you forget your tote bag you have a bag inside your purse handy.

Newest Crafts

Sorry my next day update turned into two days. I have been having trouble with my knee from Hell this week. My arthritis decided to control my lifestyle and I have been limping in pain for the past two day. So finally got some pain pills yesterday and much sleep later am able to set at the computer for a while at a time.

Here are the pictures of the crafts that I did for my craft show.

I set out one of each card for people to look at. Then behind the table I have all the extra cards that I sell.

In the center are the new small and medium chalk boards that I just started making. These are small enough to hand on your door for a quick message.

Bottom row are the new plaster tiles that I just tried doing. They were fun and quick to make. Just make sure that the tile that you choose does not have a smooth finish or else the plaster will slide off after it is dried and it will have to be glued on with crystal effects. Believe me I found out this the hard way. Center row are the birdhouse milk carton boxes with jellybeans inside. You use the bigshot milk carton die for these. I also did some with butterflies on the front. The back row are the large 12 X 12 magnet/chalk/note boards. I included a place on each one to hold the chalk. Instead of buying the new chalk sheets from StampinUp I bought chalk paint from the store and painted my background canvas with the paint. The metal sheet for the magnet side I covered with DS paper then added three wooden magnets. There is also a little clip on the top left corner to hold messages.

Around the corner and here are the new cloth barrettes, corner bookmarks, beaded pens, chap stick purse, post-it note holder container, back row decorative boxes.

Lastly I will leave you with the homemade sidewalk chalk that my sister Pam and I made. Not bad for our first try. Can you guess what we used for our mold? If you guessed toilet paper cylinders you were right. There is a total of 56 here and we used two boxes of plaster. And it really works. It is so cool. The favorite color of everyone was the black and white one.

Craft Show

Craft Show 05/21-22/10

Okay it has been a while since I have posted but I needed a break. As you can see from this picture I was a very busy lady. My sister Pam and myself did a two day craft/bake sale here at my apartment building and we did not do to bad being that it downpored rain the first day.

PAM'S ALL HAND SEWN QUILTS

As you can see we were kept very busy making things. We had a third person who lived in my building Sherri who did the afagans.

PURSE DISPLAY

The purses on the top were made by Pam and the purses on the bottom are my reversable rag purses. Pam's husband made this tree stand and it made for a wonderful display rack.

BAKED GOODIES

Now comes the fun part, FOOD, this is were we did 99% of our sales. It just was not the right time of the year for craft sales but thank goodness that we had the baked part to our days. Pam is such a terrific cook and the word spread fast. She had this super idea on the first day to start off with baking Mrs. Fields Chocolate Chip cookies first thing. Man the smell spread throughout the three floor building and we had them coming like flies. We sold all six dozen before the end of the sale. We also did a take-out lunch/dinner all day menu and had Pam flying in the kitchen.

Hardware Washers/Crystal Effects 101 Class

My Three Favorite

Get ready for 101 Jewelry Class. I am getting ready for a craft show in two weeks and just finished twenty sets of jewelry. These are all my own designs and I do not mind if you case but if you do please give credit where do. Being a StampinUp demonstrator I try to use their supplies as much as possible. In these sets I used micro beads on the base of the washers, the flowers are from the Pretties Kit, and I used the square scallop die for the base card stock (and card stock from StampinUp). I used clear packing tape to attach the backside of the jewelry to the card stock. That way when my customers pick up the square everything stays in place and does not get mixed up or lost.

I had fun with the green one here. How do you like my modern design? There is a lot of work in these, more than you would think. Crystal Effects is a must here for multiful purposes. When not using wire to attach things I used crystal effects it is such a strong glue. Also when done I gave my pins and necklaces a top coat and it gave the metal and beads the looks of glass. I am at a loss without this stuff I use it all the time in my craft making it is a must buy.

Red and black are some of my favorite color combos. Brown is not high on my color list but do like this set.

Teal is another color that I like.

I already sold the red one before I even got it to the sale. And I liked the teal one on the end so I made a duplicate to keep for myself.

This brown base is different it is wood and the beads are all wood. I think the pink one reminds me of an old antique set. It is super heavy.

Three more sets that I really love. The first one is so nice and shinny. It has a little gold butterfly on it. The middle one I used the silver duo bead set from StampinUp with silver wire wrapped around. I liked how I used the wire to loop the string on the necklace. The blue set is just that right shade of blue and I love the assortment of shapes on the beads.

Well I racked my brain this past week and can tell you there is not much space left to create more jewelry. So now I am off to use what is left to start doing some tiles. Catch you later let me know what you think, have a good day, it is cold and rainy here.

Rag Purses

Rag Purse Layout

If you have not tried the new rag purses you must give them a try they are easy and fun to make. Here is a picture of the layout after you put your squares together. You use the bigshot to make the scalloped squares using the large clear scallop square die. One for the front and one for the back with a smaller square (3 1/4" x 3 1/4") of batting between to make the quilting, finishing by stitching a "X" on each square to quilt it. Make sure you leave a 3/4" seam all around each piece. The seven square row is your bottom row of your purse (three in center), plus each side of your purse (the two at the beginning and two at end of row) you fold and sew up to make sides. The top two rows of squares are the front of your purse and the bottom two rows are the back of your purse. The little green "U" shaped strip is your closure for the front of your purse, 2" X 10". I added a scalloped flower to the front of my purse that is what the three scalloped circles are for at the bottom left (gathered in center by hand in a running stitch then pulled tight makes the flower on each layer). I also added a long pocket inside and a pocket on one of the sides. The outside is with the rag 3/4" seam cliped (meaning seam edge is on the outside) and the inside is a regular finished seam. So this is reverse from what a normal way to sew a garment but really looks cool. Remember to put a button on both sides because this purse is reversable. The more you wash your purse the more the edges fray and gives it that frayed rag look. I hope this makes sence if not you should be able to find a tutorial somewhere because they are popular right now. If not give me a gingle and I will try to help.

My Rag Purse

This is the purse that I made for myself. I used some left over material that I had used several years ago to make a vest for one of my daughters. That is one nice thing about this project it does not take very much yardage and I never get rid of my scraps because I am a quilter. The material on the handles, closure and black on the flower is kind of a velveteen and so soft and smooth to the feel. The print material is a corduroy and semiheavy so very firm and holds its shape very well. The inside is all lined with a black cotton.

Rag Purses

Here are the rest of the purses that I made. I ended up making a total of twelve in all. It gave me a chance to use some of my yard goods that I had been saving for just that special project. I used some of the old buttons from my mother and grandmother on these purses. I hated to used some of them but they matched so good I just could not resist. I do not know if they show up if you enlarge the picture or not but had lots of fun picking them out.

Mothers Day Cards

Mothers Day Cards

Here is an assortment of the cards that I made for my church for this coming Mothers Day. I ended up making 98 of them, 90 for church and 8 for myself. They each hold a packet of flower seeds in a pocket which were attached to a pullout with a tab on top, shown on the bottom right of the picture. I used dimentionals on the little flower on the bottom and a half circle knotch to insert the seed packet and hold in place. I wanted to put the seeds on something so after you used the seeds you could recycle the card and send it to someone. I used the different sizzit die cuts and punches to make the different flowers. Also used up lots of different cardstock and DSP to create lots of color on this project.

Sponge Labeling

While doing my mothers day cards I was using a lot of different colors of ink sponging. Before I had all my sponges in a large zip lock bag and just tryed to find the matching color. Somehow I ended up with five or six blacks and several real reds. Well I always wanted to do this but just never got around to it so decided it was time. So I took my scalloped oval punch and punched out the matching cardstock to the ink, labeled it with my label maker, then stapled it to the end of each section of the sponge. So now when I go hunting it is a lot quicker and know I have the right color this time. Love it!!!!!!!

Name Badge Pins

This is my group of pins that I made for our stampin up retreat weekend. Ronda Wade (head of Rubberqueens) and Melissa Rogers were our leaders, Sandi and Lois are my sisters and Tricia is my sister Sandi's daughter; my neice. I used the stamp set "Tote-ally Tess" and the new border scallop punches.

Flower/Button Balloon Birthday Card

Another birthday card that I did last night. I had lots of fun with this one. I went to my button box and put lots of different buttons on each card. You need to enlarge to see all the pretty details of each button they are so pretty. The main theme of this card is balloons and of course balloons come in all different colors so I just had to use the rainbow. This picture shows the outside of my card.

Bird Birthday Card

This is the last of my birthday cards for a while but boy do I love it. I had this stamp set for a while "It's A Stretch" but had never used it. The other stamp sets are "Birthday Best" and "Crazy for Cupcakes". I think this new bird punch goes just perfect with the stamps and I just have to have a 3-D object on my card with dimentionals. The DSP is from the sweetpea paperpack.

Well now I am off to do some milk cartons. I glued together thirty of them and now I am off to decorate them more on my next post. Let me know what you think of my cards see ya have a good day.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Finally had time to get some new cards done so have been busy this week. Here you go.

Sympathy Card

This card I cased from Ronda's group of extra cards from our stampin weekend. I changed the colors a little and created the inside of the card. The card on the left is of the outside and the card on the right is of the inside. I love using the new punch for the edging. I like the idea of tying the ribbon in the hat.

Bear Cheerleader Birthday Card

I had an order from my friend for five birthday cards and her granddaughter is a cheerleader so we came up with this card. It is so fun dressing your bear. The card on the left is of the outside and the other card is of the inside. That is her purse she is holding in her hand, if you look at it quickly the cuff on her sleeve and the purse together make a teapot. Do you see it? Some future idea maybe...

Cat Birthday Card

This one is for all you car lovers. My sister Sandi has been after me to make a quick and simple card well Sandi here you go. I came up with this one in just a few minutes. But I think most of that is because I just love this stamp set "C is for Cat" thanks to stampinup. Picture on the left is outside of card and picture on right is of the inside.

Baseball Birthday Card

This is another of the cards that Clara ordered for a special friend who loves sports. Her friend Alice has a granddaughter who is really into baseball and I had her in mind when I mad this card and will surprise her with one also. The card on the left is of the inside of the card and the card on the right is of the outside.

Basketball Birthday Card

Another one of the cards that I did at my scrappin weekend. I got so much stuff done there. I got accused by my sister of not being sociable because I was so busy creating. Now you know Sandi how we feel when we want to talk when you are busy! I really like all the sports stamps that stampinup has and plan to get all of them. I used the silver zizzy pen on the hoop and the ball is put on with dimentionals.

So as you can see I have been busy. I made ten of each of these cards and have sold six so far. I have not shown the two sports ones yet but will take down to show on Monday. I am planning a craft show the end of next month so want to get my enventory built up. Right now I have three dresser drawers full of cards already.

Easter Collection

Have been busy doing my Easter samples. Got off to a good start at Ronda's retreat this past weekend. We did all the boxes and my new Easter card there so just had to come home and make more.

Cased Easter Card

Ronda had a large table full of cards that we could case while we were there and this was one of the ones that I chose. The picture on the left is of the outside of the card and the picture on the right is what I did for the inside of the card. I just love all the spring colors. This was not a quick card to make but well worth the effort when done. You have to quess what punch that I used for the tulip buds......... Okay I will tell you it is the wing from the new 2 step bird punch, who would of guessed, not me!

Bunny Boxes

Ronda did these bunny boxes as an extra project and I was so glad because I was going to go to Tamie's blog and get the directions when I got back to make them. I changed mine a little by adding the stitch marks. I created a boy bunny with the gray and give him floppy ears then changed some of the colors. Also my sister Sandi added a tail. I took these down to lunch yesterday and sold two boy bunnies. I also added the handle and did not put the top note on the backside of the box so you could put your hand inside the box easier. With the handle on it was harder to get inside to get the candy in and out.

Triangle Baskets

This was another project we did and we got directions for three different sizes this is the medium size. This basket is very quick and easy to make in just a very shot time. I like the triangle and different shape of it. I sold the purple one in the front yesterday at lunch for $3.00 to my friend Clara. She is another purple lover like me. I always have to make at least one purple and one pink of everything.

Scallop Envelope Baskets

Don't you just love all the pretty colors. Can you tell I am a bold bright person? Lastly we did these scallop envelope baskets out of the big shot die. One of our gifts in our $60 goodie package was a pack of Sweet Pea Designer Paper and it came in handy with all these baskets.

Stamp and Scrap Getaway Weekend

Had a GREAT scrappin weekend with Ronda Wade and Melissa Roberts as our hostess. We stayed at the Quality Inn University hotel in Lansing from 3:00 Friday March 12 to noon on Sunday March 14th. I think there were something like 26 of us and we each had a 6 foot table space. We had four optional classes we could sign up for and of course I could not resist but had to take all of them. Then we had four make-n-takes, raffles and silent auction all during the weekend. Included were our meals, snacks and lods of goodies and complements of the hotel a free drink pass each day. I guess this is going to be a semi annual deal and this is my second time I have been. If money allows I will be at the next one in November. Here are just a few of the pictures that I took.

This is my sister Sandi and her daughter Tricia. Sandi made both costumes. Sandi does not like to waste any scraps and is always going through the trash at meetings to retreive leftovers people throw away. So she through this would be a perfect idea for her since everything was recycled from her scraps. Tricia is Maxine the cartoon lady and Sandi made this up even the maxie pad slippers. We had so much fun you hated to pack up and leave on Sunday. But I did need two days of sleep once I got home. I do not know how Ronda and Melissa do this all the time with all their classes they do all week long. I could never keep up.

Special Lady-Clara Smith

Well here she is I got a picture of her, Clara. This is the lady I talked about previously who just had her breast removed about 6 months ago. Isn't she a sweetie. She always has such a pleasant disposission and in such good spirits. She comes over to my apartment building to play bingo twice a week and buys lots of my crafts. Cancer Pins

Here are two pins that I made using the Ribbon of Hope stamp from StampinUp for Cancer Survivors. One of my good friends Clara who buys lots of stuff from me and goes to the lunches and bingo is over 80 some years old and this last six months had a breast removed to cancer. She is a sweetheart and a trooper and came back strong and very quickly. She was right back in the swing of things within a few weeks. I gave her the one on the right and she just loved it. It just so happened that that day she had on a matching sweater in the purely promagranate (or maroone as some of us called it). So I pinned it on and she blossumed beautifully. I should of though of it and taken my camera down and taken her picture. Maybe I will ask her to bring it back and I will add it later for you.

Here are some more of the pins that I did also:

I did something different on the top row. The two on the outside edges I punched a scallop circle out of the scallop punch using DSP. Then I cut the scallop apart into individual petals. I glued a large circle on the back of the pin as a base to glue the petals to and inserted the petals between the plastic front of the pin and the cardstock circle on the back to make it look like a large flower. If you enlarge the picture you can see it better. Also I glued tiny seed beads around the clear plastic front. The middle pin I used the sizzit scallop die to make the background scallop. The bottom right rose and heart pin I used the new boarder punches.

Fancy Pins and Hair Attachmets

Fancy Pins

I got started doing this new idea making pins with the bigshot dies that I just could not stop making them. Since starting with stampingup I have been neglecting my other crafts like sewing. But with the bigshot I can combine both at once. So off to my fabric stash I went. I had so many fat quarters for my quilts to choose from it was hard to stop. I tryed to use a combination of three different fabric choices per flower. A couple of them I even used my ink and sponged the edge of the white material to match (see the green on on the far right on the third row and the blue one at the start of the next row. The blue one is very hard to pick up and see but I just used my sponge and inked the edge of the material like we do on our stamps.) I attached all the beads and buttons with crystal effects. There is a little bit of sewing to gather the scalloped flowers but the daisies are all done with just the bigshot then I used tombo glue to glue the layers together.

These two pins use lots of material and took longer to make. They are ruffly the same size but just taller and fuller.

These are barrets/hair accessories. I basically used the same patterns as with the pins but a few are different. All my pattern directions I got from http://www.stampinconnection.com/ video's. I ended up doing a total of 99. You do not know how hard it is for me not to make it an even 100 but already put everything away and on to the next project. Sold four at lunch today to one person so my numbers would of still been off.

STAMPINUP PINS

This is my latest quest making these fun pins. All three of these are stampinup stamps with various stampinup paper. If some of you are formular with a wordless book that is how I layered the colors on my first stamp. I have several horse people this way so had to do a horse one and Taken with Teal is one of my favorate colors and just love the pearls from the pretties kit. I used crystal effects to glue and a tip, if you get any extra on the plastic of the pin just put some witch hazel on a cuetip and wipe it off. It does a great job. The last pin I get a kick out of. In case you cannot read all of it it says " A balanced diet is a chocolate in each hand" and the three little beads at the top are suppose to be mini chocolates. Sorry they are just wooden beads I did not want the chocolate to melt on your blouse. As if it would get that far in my house!

It snaps open in the back to put a picture inside then closes really easy. I cut my stamped circle a little smaller so that I could put some DSP as a border around to give it some punch.

Vintage Vogue/Bookmark

What a fun time I had with this set. I did a class as I was creating this card and had a hard time limiting my ideas. I just love the new stamp sets from the mini. I combined four different stamp sets on this card so resorted to making it on a large card (half a sheet of card stock folded in half). The picture on the left is of the pink set which was my original class idea. One of my customers wanted to do her's in the soft suede so the set on the far right shows it done in the soft suede. The second layer down shows the inside of the cards and below that shows what I stamped on the front left corner of the envelope. Then on top of the envelope at the bottom is the tag bookmarker that is tucked inside of the small envelope on the front of the card (shown at the top also).

The tag on the front of the card is put on with dimentionals plus the oval and tag on the inside.

PENQUIN VALENTINE PUNCH ART CARD

Aren't they just the cuties things? Do they look like they are in LOVE??? She looks so so shy. Do we have those guys fooled or what? Well thanks to Jackie @ jackietopa.typepad.com who I cased this card somewhat from this is my new valentine card for this year. The picture on the left is of the outside of the card and the picture on the right is of the inside. I just finished two of them this morning and took them down to lunch to show off and they were a big hit. I took several other valentines from before and sold eight in total this morning. I guess I hit everyone at the right time. Here are the directions.

SUPPLIES

HEAD: Black CS- 1 3/8" Circle punch

HEAD: INSIDE: White CS- (2) small oval punch (cut in half the short way) and (1)1/2" circle (cut in half)

FEET: Round Tab punch (1) cut in half, then cut again in half (one punch makes four feet) In a later version I rounded the other half of the foot to match the punched side to make a more webbed look, you choose which one you prefer.

Fabulous Gift Bags for Everyone

After several weeks I finally decided to call it quits. I ended up making two of each of these bags plus did one class already and have booked another class. Tomorrow I take them down to the community room at lunch time and show everyone to see how they go for sales. A card is included with every bag plus I have a small decoration on the backside. All of the bags have lots of 3-D effects to give it that extra WOW. Right click to enlarge to see details.

Baby/Kids

The first two are both alike but I used different DSP sheets from Spring Fling. Stamps: Big On Spring and By Ones & and By Twos. Ink: Sage Shadow, Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Pretty In Pink, and Basic Black.

The bag on the far right I used Stamps: Fox & and Friends, Wild About You and Animal Stories. Ink: Basic Brown, Baja Breeze, Yoyo Yellow, Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss and Going Gray. Accessories: Beaded Letters, Wide Oval punch, Scallop Square Punch, 1 3/4' Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Square Punch, Scallope Punch, Oval Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, My Way Punch.

Big Shot Build A Bear

This was my first time using the build a bear and I had lots of fun. I guess my disco craze was coming out in me. Dig those poka dot britches. Doesn't he look like he is doing the hussel? The DSP paper that I used here was Cutie Pie with Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel and Riding Hood Red CS. Accessories: Small Hole Punch, Circles Scallop #2 Die, Bigz Beary Essentials, Bigz Bear, Embosslets Pawsitively, Embosslets Lil Paws, Big Shot, Sticky Strip, Snail, 2-way glue, Hemp Twine, Gift Bag. The large brown circles are the embosslet Lil Paws which are the raised embossed pawprint. You cannot see it here but it really looks great on the bag. On the boys shoes I used white hemp twine and tied a knot through the holes in the templete.

Birthdays- Cupcakes, Cows, Buttons

Everyone needs a birthday bag and these are three of my favorates. The pink cupcake one on the far left is done using liquid applique. After you apply it you heat set it and it puffs up. I added beads before heating it and I tell you it looks just like a real cupcake. The balloons are put on with dimentionals and hemp twine added with just a little crystal effects in several spots leaving lots of curl to really give it that 3-D look. Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes, Birthday Whimsy, Cause to Celebrate.

There are so many different things to choose from to use in StampinUP. For this bag on the far left I choose the Onboard So Tweet Chipboard set then applied Delicate Dots DSP over it. On the tree branch I used acrylic paint. Stamp: Good Friend.

Gift bag in the center was a bag that I started at a class at my sister Sandi's house a long time ago. I decided I needed to doctor it up some. She had a different DSP on top so I changed it out. Then I added the extra strip of trim under the ribbon, the metal dragonflies and beads on dasies.

Gift bag on right was done using the bigshot Bigz Beautiful Butterflies, Bigz Clear Large Square Scallop Transparent, Stamps: Bella Blossoms and Flight of the Butterfly, Paper: Fall Flowers DSP, Ink: Really Rust, Soft Sky and Old Olive

Horses and Liberty

Horses are always a big hit around here. The one on the left was done using the stamp set: Bronc Buster, Star Struck, and Wanted. I used Western Sky DSP with Whisper White, Blue Bayue, and River Rock CS. I put small grommets in the center of the large circles on the front.

The horse gift bag on the far right I also used Western Sky DSP and the same CS. I used the Star punch, Large Star punch, Phote Corners punch and small hole punch plus black and gold brads.

The Liberty bag used stamp set The Free & The Brave. DSP Blue Bayou Prints, CS Night of Navy, Whisper White, and Real Red. Die Cuts Bigz XL Sizzic Die Settings.

Office Ephemeria

Lastly this gift bag is for that hard to give person. I like this stamp set because it can be used for almost anyone. Stamps: Office Ephemeria, Thinking of Father. Paper: Walk In the Park DSP CS Basic Gray, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze and Whisper White. Accessories: Crimper, Pushpad, Vintage Brads, Aqua Painter, Dimentionals, Tacky Glue, Gift Bag, Hemp Twine.

Here is the make-up tray that I made for my granddaughter Mariah this Christmas. Look several entries below and you will see an entry of how I made it. I thought I would include a picture of how she looked when she opened it. It was so funny. When she opened it she said "Oh I got a basket?" Right away I corrected her and said "A Make-Up Tray" And she comes back with "Ya a Make-Up Tray thats what I ment to say" Good cover Mariah!

Here she is looking at her goodies inside. Afterwards she told me that she had almost thirty bottles of fingernail polish. I guess that explains why that day she had several different colors on different fingers. I think it was green and orange here. Was I this crazy when I was 13? I Love her to death though.

Here is my try at two gift bags that I made for my girls for Christmas this year with attached cards. The left one is for my oldest daughter Stephaine and I used DSP Bashful Blue, Cardstock: Real Red, and Old Olive. Supplies: Dimentionals, Glitter & Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Sticky Strip, Mellow Moss-Chocolate Chip & Very Vanilla 3/8" Ribbon, and Hemp Twine. The bags I bought from stampinup but they no longer sell them.

GrandDaughter Mariah Christmas 2009

She lived in that hat all day long. I guess I forgot what it is like to be 13!

Below she is trying to hula hoop to her Wii Fit game, it was so funny watching her. It is a game that is computer generated on the TV by stepping on this stool. You have a remote in your hand and you do all the actions. So in a sence you are doing all the work and if you do not do it right you fail. So if she did not swing her hips just right or did not catch another hula hoop to earn exta points her game was over. Then at the end it told her how many calories that she burned off doing that exercise. But the best part is watching them move when they have no hoop and you just die laughing.

Grandson Alex Smith's birthday gift

This is a late birthday gift for my grandson who turned 11 on Nov 14th. I did not have the materials then but finally got around to doing it. It really did not take much time to make mostly it was finding the supplies (the galvenized tin and cork) then cutting out the metal and waiting for the crystal effects to dry was the hardest. Basicly I got the idea from a class that my sister went to of Ronda Wade's but her's did not have the cork on it. Ronda used chipboard for the backing but I had several sheets of artist canvas left from when I was oil painting and they worked just fine. Then I cut my tin to size and glued it on with the crystal effects and weighted it done with heavy objects to let it dry. After this I got to start the creating process.

The cork that I found came in two thicknesses. One was in a roll very thin. The other which I purchased came in four sheets 12 X 12, 1/8" in depth. I cut the cork to fit my board then doubled it and glued with crystal effects. I was not sure if a single thickness would hold the pushpin tight enough that is why I doubled the cork. But as you can see from the picture I have the pins pushed all the way down.

The stars are wood cutouts painted, paper added to front then inked around edge. A thin magnet sheet is glued to the back. Alex's name is also wooden letters painted with acrylic paint then edged with ink and glued with crystal effects. I used the crop-a-dial to make the holes for the rope to hang. Before adding the rope I glued down a jumbo antique brass eyelet in each hole to give it a more finished look. If I would of had an extra large washer or bolt I think this would of looked nice also. I need to make a trip to the hardware store and get some supplies for guy things, buttons only go so far.

I have lots of canvas left so plan on making some more to sell here around the apartment. I have some smaller sheets 8 X 12 that I think would go great on the outside of our doors as a message board. Thanks for looking let me know what you think.

Make-up Tray Christmas 2009

Well how do you like? This is for my 13 year old granddaughter Mariah this year for Christmas. My sister Sandi made some last year for her granddaughters and I have been dieing to make some ever since, thanks for the idea Sandi. This was so fun and fast to make. The only hard part was waiting for the modpodge to dry and crystal effects on the beads. I did it all in one night and it was done before I knew it. I wish I could say it was all StampinUp products but sadly it is not but tryed to use as much as I could.

There is a tag added here but you can hardly see it in this picture but it has a flower in the center then I wrote "I Love You" in white gel pen.

INSIDE TOP VIEW

The velium butterflies were done using the bigshot die with velium clear cardstock. Then I sponged ink, purple on the large one and pink on the small one. I added jewels and glitter to give it some sparkle and curled the wings on the top set ( I doubled each butterfly to give it dimention, then glued together with wire for the stem and a brad for the head). All the flowers and the butterflies were applied using wire this way I could play with them and move them were I wanted them. I just threaded the wire through the handle of the wooden tray. The wooden letters and the micro beads are glued on using crystal effects. I used the modpodge on the bottom of the tray while appling layers of my cardstock. Make sure you use gobs of modpodge the more the better and no air pockets in the paper. It will show milky white until dry. After drying I applied two more layers but you can add as many as you want. If I had more time I think I would of went to the store and had a piece of glass cut to cover the bottom so if Mariah spills she can clean it up easier. Hope you enjoy let me know what you think. 2009 Christmas Cards using Top Note Big Shot Die

Elf Shoes

Isn't this the cutiest? The left side is of the outside of the card and the right picture is of the inside of my card. I got the general idea of the outside of the card online from Marie Shaughnessy, thanks Marie, I just love your idea.

The shoes are cut using the bigshot TopNote die cut down. You can get two sets of shoes from one note. You use the 1 3/8" and 3/4" circle punch to form the top of the shape of the shoes. You cannot see because the flower is covering it but the tip of the shoe comes to a point from the circle punch. The flower is from the Boho Blossoms punch with a brad in the center then put on with a pop dot to make it stand out. The buckle is first punched on SU Brushed Copper cardstock with the Single Slot hand held punch then cut to size to make the buckle. The oval saying is put on with VersaMark, Copper Embossing Powder, then heat set. I inked the edge of the Real Red cardstock with Basic Black ink to give it depth and flow, I also did the same on the inside on the Whisper White cardstock. The stamp on the inside is from StampinUP "Bearing Gifts". I made 22 of these and only have a few left after sending out my cards. Hope you enjoy. Let me know what you think.

This is my second card for this year. This one I got the idea for the outside from stampscrapdiva.blogspot.com, thanks. This was a very time consumming card. First you have to punch out all the 1 1/4" sqs to form a 5 X 3 1/2" rectangle to place on the bigshot to cut out your top note from. I glued my squares to my chocolate chip cardstock and left a little space between each square to give it that quilted look. I used SU stamp "Holiday Best" inside the Ivory HodgePodge Hardware on the outside, applieing this before glueing down to card. I also added my ribbon before adding my layers. The Originals Apline 5/8" ribbon matched so perfect here I just loved it. I was not sure on what to do for the inside but saw all the negative pieces left over setting on my table from the topnote cutouts I though why not use them. So I traced the outlie of the note first in pencil. Then inked the background of the card in Always Artichoke using a sponge going over the line just a little. Then I glued on the topnote. I used SU stamp "Perfect Presentation" with Always Artichoke ink on Very Vanilla cardstock. Then punched it out with the Designer Label Punch. I continued to layer with River Rock, Real Red, and Old Olive and cutting around each layer to contunue patteren. Hope you like this idea

Snowman and Elf Fancy Favor Treat Box

Well I finally got two of the four complete of this set. Are they not sweet? Sorry about being so slow lately in posting but have been kine of lazy and just laying around recovering. Went to the doctors yesterday and lost all the water weight plus seven pounds more so am on top of the world right now.

But to get back to my projects these are cases from several places but mostly from Sandy Haines, I think that is how you spell her last name. I changed the hat on the snowman and the ears and collor on the elf. They are not real big but it is a good size goodie box and would look great with either candy canes or candy inside. Alex's Birthday Card

Now that my grandkids are getting older I need to add to my stamps. I had a hard time coming up with an older stamp set plus male for Alex this year. He is eleven. I had intentions in doing one of the sports stamps but they do not have a football guy and that is what he is into right now. All the rest of my stamps are geared for more on the younger side so I setteled on this star set, "IN THE STARS" . The top picture is of the outside of the card and the bottom open picture is of the inside of the card. The saying "May All Your Dreams Come True" is put on with dimentionals. I also decorated the envelope with some of the star stamps.

PEPPERMENT PATTIES

Here are the peppermint pattie punch stampinup gifts that I made for my craft show. They are all made using different stampinup punches. There are so many ideas out there you could go on forever. If you cannot make out the picture do a left click on you mouse on the picture and it will enlarge the picture so you can see it better. But here is a list of what every thing is: back row Santa, raindeer, spider, eyeball, chick, sheep, next row are the four Sesame Street Characters Oscar the Grouch, Cookie Monster, Big Bird, and Elmo, then a pink flower, blue flower, cupcake, next row are three different ornaments cut from the new ornament stamp set and punch, penquin, snowflake and front row a fish. I sold a lot of these and sold them 3 for a $1.00. The best seller was the santa. I made a total of 10 and sold all of them. Least was the cupcake and eyeball did not sell any of them. The eyeball would do good probably before holloween and this was just after.

Die Cut Christmas Tree

The new die cut Christmas tree from the Christmas flyer. If you want to spend a lot of time on a project this one is for you. I have seen on line where some people just cut it out of DSP then put it together and that is it, they were wise! This was very time consuming. I only put $3.00 on mine, made 5, kept one for myself, sold three. I am glad I got my die cut at the discount $10 price.

Santa Boxes

These were a big hit. I think I made a total of 16 and only have 5 left. I sold them for $3.00 each. I got the idea from Tammy Ackerson http://tamieackerson.typepad.com/my_weblog/

She comes up with the best ideas. People seem to like the tall one better, which I would of though it would of been the other way around.

Amazing Trivets

Tile Trivets

I just finished making these trivets for the craft show. I made two of the bear and snowmen tiles and sold all and had an order for another snowman. I used a sponge to do the background on the bear plus walrus and then used shimmer paint flicked on with a stiffel brush in the water on the bear tile. The snowman tile I just painted the shimmer paint on the bottom of the tile. I baked them 15 min @ 350 then sprayed each tile with a sealer. I used cork circles on the back so it would not scratch the furniture but most people were going to use it as a display piece. I made a total of 15 and only had 5 left and had orders for 4 more. The tiles cost me 78 cents and I sold them for $3.00 and probably could of gotten more. I think next time I will try putting painted wooden beads on the bottom.

I made two of the card tiles and sold one. I sold both of the other tiles pictured here.

I sold the cardinal tile and make another one tonight for my friend Connie who helped me during the craft show as a surprise for helping me. The Santa tile also sold.

I still have the country one in the middle but the train and horse tiles were gone right away. They are done in black ink but for some reason my stampin up black ink come out as a dark purple some times. These tiles are quick and easy to make and take less time than it does to bake to stamp and color. Just make sure that you get the unfinished with no glaze tiles so that the ink will not rub off.

Pretty in Pink

Well finally craft day is here. After a lot of work and long hours this is what I have to display for my craft show. Starting on the left you start with sets of tags, stationary w/envelopes, matchboxes w/candy inside, trivets/hotplates, calendar packet which includes 12 months-easle-and decorative box, and on right corner are corner bookmarks. Far back right corner are three wooden pencil holders with 3-D stampin attachments.

Starting on left front corner are my tic-tac-toe magnetic tin games, 3-D die cut Christmas tree, Santa Boxes, hard to see but two jars with holiday rub-ons and filled with potpourri, gable boxes along back, decorative boxes, note purses with four note cards included, pepermint patties punch caracters, double tea bag card holders, hot coco cards, cup-a-soup cards, holiday matchboxes filled with candy, candy favor bags, sweetart sliders.

This table I had my cards on display. I have all my Christamas cards out and then a few of my favorate assorted other cards. People would come by and look and then pick up which one that they wanted then bring it to me. I had my extra behind the display to hand out. Also for those that I could not put out for display since I have over 150 cards total I have three different binders. The binders are Birthdays, Holidays, and Card Catalog which are divided with tabs labeling the catagory such as Get Well, Friend, Anniversary, etc.. People were told to look in the binders and if they wanted a card to take it out. I have them attached with velcro then to bring it to me and I will get them the card for them. I have a number on the back of each card so that I can keep record of sales plus know where to place it back in my binder. I had great success with this and sold many cards. All my cards are the same price $2.00.

I had a supper success at this show and made many new contacts. For the small town that we are the amount of sale that I ended up with ended up being the same or better than what I have done at big town shows. I ended up selling over 2/3 of my enventory. Now I have room to start stamping for more great ideas!!!!

Instant Coco Pocket Card

Instant Hot Coco with Peppermint Pattie Card

I guess this colder weather has been getting to me because this card sounded so good to me tonight I had a hard time not sampling them. The top picture is of the outside of the card and the bottom picture is of the opened inside. The other night I was making my peppermint patties for the craft show and I made some hot coco and thought I wonder what it would taste like if I put one of the patties in the coco. Well let me tell you no more plain coco for me. So I though I would pass this on too my customers and include the extra treat with this card. My sister Sandi Dailey had done a similar card using the bear setting on the iceberg with the trees in the background so I kind of borrowed the idea from her, thanks Sandi. I used a sponge to do all of the background coloring, the edge of my bone folder for the scrape marks and stamps for everything on the iceberg. I used the tacky glue to glue on the peppermint and the sticky strip cut into small pieces for the inside pocket. Tip: Tacky glue did not hold so had to staple the two sides of card to hold the weight of hot coco packet.

Yummy for your Tummy

I guess I should include some substance to go with the sweet stuff. Here is the cup of soup card I just finished. The top picture is of the outside of the card. Whoops the bottom picture is turned the wrong way, it is suppose to go sideways, but it is of the inside of the card. I think you get the drift of things. I just wanted something very quick and simple so really did not do much on this one. The little tag on the front is put on with dimentionals thought. When I seen the little tea cup I though of blue and white china so that is where I got my color choices from. Tip: Tacky glue did not hold so had to staple the two sides of card to hold the weight of soup packet.

Delightful Dates Calendar and Box

This is what has been keeping me busy lately. I was just going to do only one up for the craft show but after I got started I fell in love with the set so decided to do all four that I had. I think the price is a little steep in the book, almost $8 ea. before decorating. So I had to think of some way to really sell these. There is DSP on the back of each card and a chipboard easel to set them on. The November card above is setting on the easel but it is hard to see because it is black. I decided to create a nice decorative box to go along with the set. I took the punched out chipboard parts from the easel painted them black and glued them to the top of the box.

TIP: A good stamp set to use for this is "Teeny Tiny Wishes" from Stampin Up. It has almost all of the holiday sayings that I used on this project. Very useful stamp set.
