I used stampin ups background sizzix Friend background plate. I copied the whole plate onto Blush Blossom cardstock then sponged inked Always Artichoke, Basic Black, and Bravo Burgundy to make the writing more visable. The vertical strip is the Friendly Words jumbo wheel done on vellum cardstock with versamark ink then Ruby embossing powder and heat set. The flowers are cut using sizzix die cut Flower Daisies #2 using Blush Blossom cardstock, Bravo Burgundy ink on edges. I glued two flowers together to make it fuller on each set. Then I used my stencil brush and flicked splatter drops in center with Always Artichoke and Bravo Burgundy ink. The large flower has a corderoy Kiwi Kiss brad button in center. Since the kiwi did not match my colors I tapped it into my Always Aritchoke ink pad which turned it BLACK, go figure that one out. The other two flowers I used the 1/2" circle punch with black cardstock and applied using 3-D pop dots. The curved leaves are made using the wide oval punch cut in half then sliceing thin cuts. This allowed me to arch it some before glueing it with my 2-way glue.

OMG, now I know why I couldn't comment. You were in the middle of updating your blog!! I love this card Kathleen. Your stripped colors are beautiful together, and like your idea on using the entire embossing plate. Way to go!! Sandi
ReplyDeleteHi-Just opened my mail and seen your message so had to jump right on the blog to see what you did. First of all, I like your website colors and next I really like your card, especially the part about embossing part. Neat idea. TFS.
