Christmas Matchbox Treat Boxes

I just love using the matchbox die to make these boxes.  Here are some pictures of some of the Christmas boxes that I made this last week. I ended up making 31 total boxes with a total of 14 different designs. Some of my customers  are going to use them to put money in for gifts, I think they are just the right size for jewelry such as earrings or necklaces.  But I am offering mine with candy inside.

I used a double tag on the top left box here to give it a little more zing.

The deer box is done using the new in color Soft Suede and it is so sweet.  It is hard to see but I used the Dec 25 post it stamp from Winter Post as my background stamp with Gold Metalic Ink.  I did not have any matching ribbon so I used chocolate chip.

Mostly the directions for these boxes are follow the directions on the die cut.  Except when it comes to folding down the sides ONLY fold down the two short sides. I used sticky strip to hold mine down. Leave the two long sides open to glue your tag to. When I glued on the tag I used anywhere glue because you can reposition it over an over.  When matching up the window sometimes you need to tweak it a few times before you get it centered just right. I also glued a matching tag to the back of each tag to give it more support. The slider window has packing tape with dazzling diamonds sprinkled sparingly.  I tapped off as much as I could then scrapped off even more with my fingernail.  Less is best this way you get a very clear image shinning through the window.

Supplies: Anywhere Glue, Sticky Strip, punches, Big XL Matchbox Die, BigShot, Packing Tape, Dizzling Diamonds, Powder Pal, Paper Cutter-Scorer, Cardstock, assorted stamps, assorted inks, assorted ribbon

  1. Much better pictures on your blog, I can really see the details better. They are very cute and really like the idea of packing tape technique for these. I love Mr. Twigster, deer, & ornament ones (or I should say they are my favorites if I had to pick -- but all are pretty). A lot of work here!! Sandi

  3. We are going to have a Bake/Craft sale here in Nov and I am going to sale my stuff then. This time I will be keeping my sales. So I am trying to build up an inventory for that. I have several other ideas that I will be doing in the future but have to get started on Caly's cookbook this week. That date is coming up too quickly. Thanks for the comment.
