Caly's & John's Cookbook front Cover

Well something should tell me I should not continue with this project because it has been one do over after another.  But I guess it is what they say there is no mistakes only new possabilities.

This is going to be a bridal gift for my neice Caly, my sister Pam's only girl on the 18th of this month. Yes, I am just starting so hope it goes better then today.  It is going to be a scrapbook cookbook with pictures of Caly (a few of John) growing up and different recipies for them to try.  I am going to leave some blank pages so she can add to it.  She is a scrapbooker herself and I am sure will have fun adding some of her favorate things. Pink, purple and blue are Caly's favorate colors so are mine so I am going to love making this one. Also tiger lilies are her favorate flowers so I am using that as a theme in the cookbook.

Lots of tips though.  DO NOT use crystal effects on a cloth padded album to glue on rhinestones, it leaves a wet mark that does not dry.  Error number one. Error number two was when I did one of the embossed lilies I left too much of the embossing powder on and it came out kind of blurry and messy so was glad for that redue.  But I did use the crystal effects to glue on the double hearts on the picture and  it worked fine there. So I ended up covering my front.  By doing that I got to add the Lavender Lace CS and the Whisper White 5/8" Organzia ribbon that I had not planned the first time around.  Plus I added the punched heart and scalloped blue print  the second time around.  The bird and the saying are put on with dimentionals.

Stampin Up Supplies:  Stamp: Fifth Avenue Floral, Versa Mark, Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, 2-Way Glue, Whisper White 5/8" Organzia Ribbon, Scalloped Edge Punch, Dimentionals, Crystal Effects, Snail, Movers & Shapers Holidays Windows, Paper: Brocade Blue, Lavender Lace, Regal Rose

  1. Hoorah!! You have got the worst part over with -- and what a nice cover. I love that picture of them, hadn't seen it before. I just hope she doesn't get on here and see it, as you know she has our blog addresses. That's what I always have a hard time with, waiting to show my creations until the person has received the gift or the presentation is over (so it is still a surprise). Good going Kathleen, only 24 more pages to get done -- LOL. Sandi

  2. Gee Kathleen, Caly is really going to be surprised. I hope you include the green bean casserole! You did a great job on the front cover and I hope you don't have too many more mishaps. Of course, You have to admit the new and improved is better, right? Lois
